LETTER DATED 26 AUGUST 1996 FROM THE SECRETARY-GENERAL<\/p><\/div>\n

ADDRESSED TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE SECURITY COUNCIL<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>I have the honour to refer to the composition of the Â鶹APP Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>The Governments of Estonia and Norway have proposed to place an Estonian Company within the Norwegian infantry battalion in UNIFIL for a period of six months beginning in November 1996.  This deployment will be in the framework of the two States' cooperation in the field of peace-keeping.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Following the usual consultations, I propose that Estonia be added to the list of Member States providing troops to UNIFIL for the above-mentioned period.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>I should be grateful if you could bring this matter to the attention of the members of the Security Council.<\/p><\/div>\n
