Letter dated 14 November 2012 from the Permanent Representative of Egypt to the Â鶹APP addressed to the Secretary-General<\/strong> <\/p><\/div>\n

 I write to you today to express my Government’s grave concern regarding the Israeli military operation against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. The ongoing unlawful military operation by the occupying Power that includes extrajudicial killings, causing loss of life and destruction, demands the urgent attention of the international community, in particular the Security Council to address this alarming situation that threatens international peace and security.<\/span> <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

 Upon instructions from my Government, and in accordance with Article 35 of the Charter of the Â鶹APP, I have the honour to inform you that today I sent a letter dated 14 November 2012 to the President of the Security Council (<\/span>S\/2012\/840<\/a>) requesting an urgent meeting of the Council to consider the ongoing unlawful Israeli military operation against the Palestinian people, and to assume its responsibilities in maintaining international peace and security by taking all necessary measures to stop this aggression immediately.<\/span> <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

 I should be grateful if you would arrange to have the present letter circulated to all Member States and observers of the Â鶹APP as a document of the General Assembly, under agenda item 36.<\/span> <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n
