\nNote verbale dated 29 January 1988 from the Permanent Mission<\/u>
\nof Iraq to the Â鶹APP Office at Geneva addressed to the Centre for Human Rights, <\/u>
\ntransmitting three communications from the Permanent Observer of the Palestine Liberation Organization to the Â鶹APP Office at Geneva<\/u>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\tThe Permanent Mission of the Republic of Iraq to the Â鶹APP Office at Geneva presents its compliments to the Chairman of the Commission on Human Rights and has the honour to transmit to him three documents from the Permanent Mission of the Palestine Liberation Organization to the Â鶹APP Office at Geneva.\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\tThe Mission of the Republic of Iraq would be grateful if the necessary steps could be taken to publish these documents as official documents of the forty-fourth session of the Commission on Human Rights.\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n

\n\t\t\t\tLETTER DATED 22 FEBRUARY 1988 FROM THE PERMANENT OBSERVER OF
\nTHE PALESTINE LIBERATION ORGANIZATION TO THE UNITED NATIONS
\nOFFICE AT GENEVA ADDRESSED TO THE CHAIRMAN OF THE COMMISSION ON HUMAN RIGHTS\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\tOn 20 February 1988, two more Palestinian youths were buried alive by the Israeli occupation soldiers, in Khan Yunis (Gaza Strip). Saleh Mousa Hamad, aged 17, and Adel Mass'oud, aged 18, were found by the inhabitants of Khan Yunis and transported to hospital in a very critical condition.\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\tThis new tragic event, which is part of the practices used by the Israeli occupation authorities against the Palestinian people, men, women, children and babies, including murder, systematic beatings resulting in multiple fractures, attacks against pregnant women resulting in miscarriages, and burying people alive, constitutes one more act of genocide, according to articles II and III of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\tWe hereby request you to consider the present communication as an official document of the forty-fourth session of the Commission on Human Rights.\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n

\nTO THE UNITED NATIONS OFFICE AT GENEVA ADDRESSED T0 THE CHAIRMAN OF THE COMMISSION ON HUMAN RIGHTS\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\tThe Israeli occupation authorities have adopted a new method of mass murder against the Palestinian people in the Palestinian occupied territories.\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\tThe Israeli occupation forces impose curfews on refugee camps and villages, oblige the inhabitants to enter their houses by force, then shoot gas-bombs inside the houses, thus causing a very great number of casualties among the defenceless civilians. Such methods have already been used in Gaza city, Jabalia camp, Beit-Lahya and Beit-Hanoun.\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\tThis new barbaric method of mass murder constitutes one more act of genocide according to articles II and III of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\tWe hereby request you to consider the present communication as an official document of the forty fourth session of the Commission on Human Rights.\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n

\nTO THE UNITED NATIONS OFFICE AT GENEVA ADDRESSED TO THE CHAIRMAN OF THE COMMISSION ON HUMAN RIGHTS\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\tIn their barbaric campaign of aggression against the Palestinian people in the Palestinian occupied territories, the Israeli occupation forces have been using a particularly cruel way, attacking the Palestinian civilians inside their own homes, shooting gas-bombs inside the houses, thus causing death by suffocation of the inhabitants.\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\tIn case of the four-month-old Rana Youssef Odwan is an example of the brutality of these practices, as shown in the UNRWA confidential report No. 988405, dated 16 February 1988, copy of which is enclosed herewith. The baby died of suffocation when Israeli soldiers shot a gas-bomb inside her house.\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\tThese practices, which are contrary to all the principles of international humanitarian law, constitute more acts of genocide, according to articles II and III of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
