The Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, a subsidiary organ of the General Assembly, will convene, with the support of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation\u00a0(OIC), the International Conference on the Question of Jerusalem from 26\u00a0to 28\u00a0June in Rabat, Morocco.<\/p>\n

The Conference theme is \u201cThe Question of Jerusalem after 50\u00a0Years of Occupation and 25\u00a0Years of the Oslo Accords\u201d. \u00a0The Committee offers its sincere appreciation for the leadership of King Mohamed\u00a0VI in establishing and chairing the Al-Quds Committee of OIC. \u00a0The Committee also acknowledges the hospitality and support being provided by Morocco\u2019s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Conference.<\/p>\n

The Committee is organizing the Conference in accordance with General Assembly resolutions\u00a072\/11 and\u00a072\/13 and its 2018\u00a0programme of work. \u00a0The Conference will provide an opportunity for Member States to outline their positions and share opinions, particularly in view of recent developments. \u00a0It will also provide a valuable platform for youth from East Jerusalem to present their plight to the international community, and for participants to discuss and identify actionable solutions to the challenges confronting young people.<\/p>\n

The Conference will be inaugurated at 3\u00a0p.m. on 26\u00a0June at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 7 rue F. Roosevelt, Rabat, in the presence of Nasser Bourita, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Morocco; Riad Malki, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the State of Palestine; Miroslav Jen\u010da, Â鶹APP Assistant Secretary\u2011General for Political Affairs; and Samir Bakr, Organization of Islamic Cooperation Assistant Secretary\u2011General. \u00a0The Conference will continue on 27\u00a0and 28\u00a0June from 10\u00a0a.m. to 6\u00a0p.m. at H\u00f4tel la Tour Hassan Palace, 26, Avenue Chellah BP 14-Rabat (tel.: +212\u00a05372\u00a039000).<\/p>\n

All Member and observer States of the Â鶹APP, as well as affiliated organizations, the media and the public are invited to this event, and requested to register their participation online via the Committee website under \u201cUpcoming Events\u201d at\u00a0www.un.org\/unispal<\/a>.<\/p>\n
