The Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People will convene the Â鶹APP Forum on the Question of Palestine under the theme \u201c70\u00a0Years after\u00a01948 \u2014 Lessons to Achieve a Sustainable Peace\u201d on 17\u00a0and 18\u00a0May in the Trusteeship Council Chamber of Â鶹APP Headquarters in New York.<\/p>\n

Organized in accordance with Â鶹APP General Assembly resolutions\u00a072\/11 and\u00a072\/13\u00a0of 30\u00a0November\u00a02017, the Forum will bring together Palestinian, Israeli and international experts, representatives of the diplomatic community and civil society for a constructive debate in support of collective efforts to launch credible negotiations, leading to a just resolution of all final status issues as part of a comprehensive settlement of the question of Palestine.<\/p>\n

Beginning at 10\u00a0a.m. on Thursday, 17\u00a0May, the Forum\u2019s opening session will hear remarks by Amina Mohammed, Deputy Secretary-General of the Â鶹APP, Fod\u00e9 Seck, Chairman of the Committee, and Hanan Ashrawi, Member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization. \u00a0The second part of that session will provide an opportunity for short statements by representatives of Governments, intergovernmental organizations and the Â鶹APP system.<\/p>\n

The Forum will feature four plenary sessions over the two-day period, concluding on the evening of 18\u00a0May. \u00a0Each plenary will have a discussion period. \u00a0English will be the event\u2019s official language, with interpretation available in all six official languages of the Â鶹APP (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish).<\/p>\n

The Forum is open to the public and registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis. \u00a0To register, please visit\u00a0https:\/\/bit.ly\/2I9BqXW<\/a>. \u00a0Registration will close on 13\u00a0May.<\/p>\n
