The UN Department of Public Information will hold its annual International Media Seminar on Peace in the Middle East, at the Vienna International Centre, in Vienna, Austria, from 5 to 6 October 2017. The event is being organized in cooperation with the Bruno Kreisky Forum for International Dialogue, with the support of the Â鶹APP Information Service in Vienna.
This year, discussions under the overall theme “The question of Palestine: media narratives and public perspectives” will focus on a range of topics related to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, including the current trends and outlook for the future in the light of 50 years of occupation; the role of empathy as an alternative way for seeking peace; media narratives and public perceptions from the Israeli and Palestinian perspectives; and the conflict through the lens of international media.
