Middle East

• On 19 March, issued the update “Another Eid in The Shadow of War”. The NGO stated that closures of border crossings and uncertainty lead to shortages and sharp spikes in prices in Gaza amidst rampant poverty. This is the third year in which Gaza’s residents are marking Eid al-Fitr amidst a reality of ongoing attacks, displacement, and severe poverty. Gisha has consistently stressed that stable and uninterrupted crossing operations are essential. A lack of reliability and disruption of operations have?a profound impact on all aspects of life in the Strip.
• On 18 March,? issued a press release denouncing that 51% of Palestinian child detainees are in administrative detention without charge or trial, which is both the highest number and the highest proportion on record since Defense for Children International – Palestine began its monitoring work in 2008. A total of 351 Palestinian children were detained in Israeli prisons as of 31 December 2025, according to the latest data available from the Israel Prison Service (IPS).
• On 15 March, the? denounced Israel’s “continued killings and the systematic destruction of all essentials for life in an increasingly overt and escalating manner”. The NGO warned that Israel is exploiting the international community’s preoccupation with the ongoing war involving Iran, as well as the decline in international attention to the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT) as a whole.
• On 13 March,??issued a statement?demanding that all Third States and the EU comply with their international law obligations to ensure the protection of Palestinians from escalating Israeli settler violence and terror being perpetrated across the occupied West Bank. The NGO suggests 10 measures among which are sanction settler organizations, businesses, and those complicit in maintaining their presence in the OPT; to establish an International, Impartial and Independent Mechanism to assist in the investigation and prosecution of persons responsible for the most serious crimes against the Palestinian people.
• On?12 March,?issued a joint letter?calling on Member of Parliament Peter Kyle, Secretary of State for Business and Trade, to urgently confirm that the UK government will ban imports of any item wholly or partially produced in Israel’s illegal settlements in the OPT. The NGOs warned that the production of goods for international export is crucial for the economic viability of the settlements, drives further settlement expansion, and normalizes the illegal occupation. As one of Israel’s most significant trading partners, the UK is one of the main destination countries for many settlement products, creating a direct link between British imports and the unlawful presence of Israel in the OPT.
• On 9 March,??informed that Israel’s?Higher Planning Council of the Civil Administration is set to discuss the validation of 126 housing units in the illegal Israeli settlement of Sha’arei Tikva in the occupied West Bank. The state of emergency and the Iran war have not halted the expansion of the settlements in the West Bank.
• On 8 March,??issued the press release?“On International Women’s Day: Almost 12,500 Women Killed by Israeli Occupation in Two Years”. The NGO calls for the immediate provision of medical equipment and devices in health centers and clinics in Gaza, ensuring the entry of aid and food supplies, and providing fuel, laboratory materials and health supplies. Also, the center appeals to international institutions, especially those concerned with women, to intensify their efforts in advocacy, support, and highlighting the reality of women in the occupied Palestinian territories to determine the extent of violations and violence that Palestinian women are exposed to.
• On 7 March, the? issued a statement on the occasion of International Women’s Day, stating, “This year, International Women’s Day comes at a time when Palestinian women continue to endure extremely harsh realities. Their suffering is compounded by the oppressive policies and violent practices of the occupation, which deprive our people of the most basic conditions for a safe and dignified life […].” WCLAC calls upon the international community, international institutions, governments, feminist movements, and women around the world to intensify solidarity and support for Palestinian women, to strengthen their resilience, and to transform International Women’s Day into a global moment for renewing commitment to justice, freedom, and human rights.
• On 4 March,? published the report “The Gendered Impact of Forced Displacement on Palestinian Families from Northern West Bank Refugee Camps”. The report documents the crime of forced displacement affecting the Jenin, Tulkarm, and Nur Shams refugee camps, as well as other areas in the northern West Bank in 2024-25, with a particular focus on its complex and multi-dimensional impacts on Palestinian women. It highlights that post-displacement housing arrangements such as temporary shelters, overcrowded living with other families, or accommodation with non-relatives have resulted in serious violations of the right to privacy and created unsafe and unsuitable environments for women and girls. These conditions have heightened the risk of gender-based violence, eroded family support networks, and restricted women’s access to humanitarian aid and essential services.

Africa,?Asia?and?Europe?

• On 17 March,?the??issued the article “Losing More than Home:?How displacement in Gaza strips away dignity for families with disabilities”, collecting testimonies of Gaza’s female residents?impacted?by displacement from the?Israeli war on Gaza.
• On?16?March,? issued the press release “Killing of the Bani Owda Family Latest Illustration of Alarming Rise in Lethal Force”. In the document, the NGO stated, “Israel has a long history of failing to protect Palestinians across the Occupied Palestinian Territory or to independently investigate and prosecute offences against despite its legal obligations as an occupying power. Impunity for the human rights violations, including war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide, committed by Israeli forces and authorities against Palestinians is part of Israel’s cruel system of apartheid.”
• On 5 March,? participated in the Conference on Accountability and the Enforcement of International Law in Palestine, convened in The Hague by the co-chairs of the Hague Group, with almost 40 states in attendance. During the event, the NGO called on states to move beyond rhetorical condemnation and take concrete legal measures to uphold international law, including under the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, the Genocide Convention, the Apartheid Convention, and the Geneva Conventions.?

?North?America?

• On?19?March,? published a statement on the rapidly escalating violence in the occupied West Bank, where Israeli state-sponsored violence and settler attacks against Palestinian communities are spiraling out of control. CMEP calls on the US government and the international community to urgently focus attention on the escalating crisis in the West Bank. The transfer of weapons that fuel these abuses must end, meaningful accountability must be imposed on those responsible for violence, and the rule of law must apply equally to all.
• On 13 March,?in?an?episode?of?“Occupied Thoughts”,??President?Lara Friedman?spoke?with Ramallah-based Palestinian journalist,?analyst?and?commentator?Nour Odeh.?The episode served to discuss?the situation in the West Bank today,?trends in West Bank settler and IDF?violence?dating from before?the war on Gaza,?and recent regional developments.
• On?13 March,? issued the press release “In the Shadow of War, Settler Violence Against Palestinians Intensifies”. The NGO calls upon?states to prevent further atrocities across the OPT, including by imposing targeted sanctions on those implicated in ongoing grave abuses, suspending arms transfers to Israel, banning trade with illegal settlements, suspending preferential trade agreements with Israel, and supporting the International Criminal Court and its ongoing investigations, including by executing its arrest warrants.?

?United?Nations?

• On 18 March, the?UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People?held its 427th meeting on the margins of the 70th Session on the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70). Following opening remarks by the Palestinian Minister of Women Affairs, a panel of women experts from Gaza, the West Bank and Israel formulated recommendations for the implementation on gender-sensitive measures by Third States on ending the illegal Israeli occupation and violations against Palestinian women in the overall political and security context of the region.
• On 17 March, the? submitted its report, pursuant to Human Rights Council resolution 58/28, alerting on the accelerated unlawful settlement expansion and annexation of large parts of the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, forcibly displacing over 36,000 Palestinians amid increasing violence by Israeli security forces and settlers. UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk calls on Israel to immediately and completely cease and reverse the establishment and expansion of settlements, for the evacuation all settlers, and an end to the occupation of the Palestinian territory. Israel must also enable the return of displaced Palestinians, and stop all practices of land confiscation, forced evictions and house demolitions.
• On?12?March,?the?UN Committee on the?Exercise of the?Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People?published its monthly bulletin?Action by UN System Relevant to the Question of Palestine?for?the month of February 2026.
• On 6 March,??issued?a joint statement, warning against the irreversible ‘de-Palestinisation’ of Jerusalem.?In East Jerusalem, extrajudicial killings, large-scale?demolitions?and forced displacement have escalated. Checkpoints and closures are severing the city from its Palestinian hinterland, isolating communities from their social, cultural,?economic?and religious life and undermining their rights to self-determination and development. Punitive policing and systematic interference with freedom of worship are designed to coerce Palestinians to leave.?The experts urged immediate international action, especially in the wake of the International Court of Justice?Advisory Opinion?which declared Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory?unlawful and?called on all States to refrain from recognizing or aiding the occupation and to act collectively to end it.
