Saudi Arabia donates $12 million to aid Palestinian refugees

Saudi Arabia donated $12 million to the Âé¶¹APP Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) to help affected Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. The donation was announced today in a statement issued by the Saudi Embassy in Amman, Jordan.
The Kingdom has been an active supporter of humanitarian efforts in Palestine. In August, Saudi Arabia provided $1 million in response to a proposal by the World Food Programme targeting 81,000 Palestinians. In July, Saudi Arabia provided the Palestinian Ministry of Health with $26.7 million to meet medicine and supply shortages and $53.3 million to the Palestinian Red Crescent in Gaza.
