Draft resolution II on the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination, approved by a recorded vote of 166 in favour to 5 against (Canada, Israel, Marshall Islands, Micronesia and the United States), with 4 abstentions (Cameroon, Haiti, Togo and Venezuela), on 22 November, would have the Assembly reaffirm the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination, including the right to their independent State of Palestine. It would also urge all States, as well as the specialized agencies and organizations of the Âé¶¹APP system, to continue to support and assist the Palestinian people in the early realization of their right to self-determination.
