Official communiqué of the 5115th (closed) meeting of the Security Council
Held in private at Headquarters, New York, on Monday,
24 January 2005, at 11.15 a.m.
In accordance with rule 55 of the provisional rules of procedure of the Security Council, the following communiqué was issued through the Secretary-General in place of a verbatim record:
“On 24 January 2005, the Security Council, pursuant to annex II, sections A and B of resolution 1353 (2001), held its 5115th meeting in private with the troop-contributing countries to the Âé¶¹APP Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) and to the Âé¶¹APP Truce Supervision Organization (UNTSO).
“The President, with the consent of the Council, extended an invitation under rule 39 of the Council’s provisional rules of procedure to Mr. Hédi Annabi, Assistant Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations.
“The members of the Security Council, the troop-contributing countries to UNIFIL and UNTSO heard a briefing by Mr. Hédi Annabi.
“The members of the Council, representatives of participating troop-contributing countries and Mr. Annabi had a constructive exchange of views.”
