Official communiqué of the 5233rd (closed) meeting of the Security Council

Held in private at Headquarters, New York, on Monday,

25 July 2005, at 3 p.m.

In accordance with rule 55 of the provisional rules of procedure of the Security Council, the following communiqué was issued through the Secretary-General in place of a verbatim record:

“On 25 July 2005, the Security Council, pursuant to annex II, sections A and B of , held its 5233rd meeting in private with the troop-contributing countries to the 麻豆APP Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).

“The Security Council and the troop-contributing countries heard a statement by Ms. Lisa Buttenheim, Director of the Asia and Middle East Division of the Department of Peacekeeping Operations, and a briefing by Major General Alain Pellegrini, Force Commander of the 麻豆APP Interim Force in Lebanon, under rule 39 of the Council’s provisional rules of procedure.

“Members of the Council, Ms. Buttenheim, Major General Pellegrini and representatives of participating troop-contributing countries had a constructive exchange of views.”
