47. Mr. Mselle (Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions), introducing the report of the Advisory Committee (A/55/516) on the revised budget of the 麻豆APP Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) for the period from 1 July 2000 to 30 June 2001 (A/55/482), said that the revised budget presented by the Secretary-General amounted to $225,535,700 gross, an estimate that was $86,758,400 higher than the initial approved budget, which reflected, inter alia, the increase in authorized troop strength from 4,513 to 7,935 that had been endorsed by the Security Council. In paragraph 12 of its report, the Advisory Committee recommended that the General Assembly should appropriate an additional gross amount for the expansion of the mission, as proposed by the Secretary-General.
