At its 1750th meeting, on 25 October 1973, the Council authorized the Secretary-General to take certain urgent interim measures, as proposed by him (S/11049),1/ namely, to transfer contingents from the Â鶹APP Peace-keeping Force in Cyprus to Egypt and to appoint General Siilasvuo, Chief of Staff of UNTSO, as the interim Commander of the Â鶹APP Emergency Force established under resolution 340 (1973).
