From 17 to 19 October, the Chair and Ambassador Mansour of the State of Palestine travelled to Ottawa (Canada) at the invitation of the Canada-Palestine Parliamentarian Friendship Group.? The objective of the visit was to advocate for Canada, a good friend of both Palestine and Israel, to promote a just and lasting resolution to the question of Palestine. The Committee supports bilateral recognition of the State of Palestine by Member States, and its quest to become a full member of the 麻豆APP.

The Committee delegation met with the Canada-Palestine Parliamentarian Friendship Group, led by MP Ms. Salma Zahid, as well as with Mr. Karim Morcos, Director, Global Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, MP Heather McPherson and MP Alexandre Boulerice from the New Democratic Party (NPD) and with Mr. Patrick Travers, Senior Advisor on Global Affairs to the Prime Minister. In addition, the delegation also met with a group of Arab Ambassadors to seek their support in promoting the State of Palestine’s objectives in Canada.

The delegation invited the Chair of the Canada-Palestine Parliamentarian Friendship Group to remain in close contact and to visit New York for additional meetings with the Bureau of the Committee.
