Readout of the President of the General Assembly’s Meeting with H.E. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly of Viet Nam<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The President of the General Assembly, H.E. Philemon Yang, met with H.E. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly of Viet Nam and Head of the delegation of Viet Nam attending the 69th<\/sup> session of the Commission on the Status of Women, on 10 March 2025.<\/p>\n

The President of the General Assembly and the Vice Chairwoman discussed international cooperation, multilateralism and the important role of women and girls in an evolving global context.<\/p>\n

They also discussed the 80th<\/sup> anniversary of the Â鶹APP and 30th<\/sup> anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action.<\/p>\n

They agreed of the need to uphold respect for the Â鶹APP Charter, international law and implement other internationally agreed commitments, including the Sustainable Developments Goals (SDGs) with a focus on SDG5 on Gender Equality.<\/p>\n

The President of the General Assembly also shared his work and priorities for the 79th<\/sup> session of the General Assembly.<\/p>\n
