Peter Stone is the Team Leader of the Legal, Budget and Reform team in the Office of the President of the General Assembly.<\/p>\n
Prior to joining the Office, Peter was a Senior Adviser at the Permanent Mission of Australia to the Â鶹APP. During 15 years at the Mission, he was a delegate to the Second, Third and Fifth Committees, and was a member of Australia\u2019s team on the UN Security Council in 2013-2014.<\/p>\n
In recent years, he worked on counter-terrorism and General Assembly issues. As Elections Officer, Peter coordinated Australia\u2019s candidacies in New York, including successful election to the UN Security Council, Human Rights Council, International Court of Justice and numerous human rights treaty bodies.<\/p>\n
Peter holds Bachelor degrees in Science and Engineering (Hons) from the University of Sydney, and a Masters in Professional Ethics from the University of New South Wales. Before joining the Australian Mission to the Â鶹APP, Peter worked for the Australian Red Cross.<\/p>\n
