box_shadow_horizontal_tablet=&#8221;0px&#8221; box_shadow_vertical_tablet=&#8221;0px&#8221; box_shadow_blur_tablet=&#8221;40px&#8221; box_shadow_spread_tablet=&#8221;0px&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>Pursuant to General Assembly resolution 74\/232 B of 11 August 2020, entitled \u201cFollow-up to the Fourth Â鶹APP Conference on the Least Developed Countries\u201d the Presidents of the General Assembly and the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) will convene a <strong>joint thematic event on Least Developed Countries (LDCs) on Friday, 18 June 2021<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The joint event will be held under the theme \u201cDiversifying the Financing Toolbox to Enhance Investment in Least Developed Countries\u201d, and build common ground on strengthening national and global financing mechanisms to ensure a smart and modern risk-informed and resilient financing toolbox for LDCs aiming at accelerated implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), while building back better from the pandemic and resilience against future crises. Discussions at the thematic event will also highlight the importance of engagement with various stakeholders including governments, international financial institutions, private sector, foundations and other stakeholders in addressing the new and emerging challenges and seizing the opportunities offered by innovative financing for SDGs.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_button
