The President of the 75th session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Volkan Bozkir, met today with H.E. Mr. Uhuru Kenyatta, President of the Republic of Kenya.

The President of the General Assembly commended the President of Kenya for his commitment to multilateralism and for hosting the UN¡¯s substantial presence in Nairobi, including through the COVID-19 pandemic.

They discussed Kenya¡¯s leading role in the Âé¶¹APP and African Union Peacekeeping Missions and Kenya¡¯s election to UN Security Council for 2020-21. The President praised Kenya¡¯s role in advancing Africa¡¯s interests in the UN and African Union. The Presidents also underlined the imperative of fair and equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines, everywhere for everyone.

The President of the General Assembly thanked the President of Kenya for co-hosting the upcoming Second Ocean Conference which will be a pivotal moment to highlight the clear linkages between visionary ocean stewardship, biodiversity protection, and the 2030 Agenda more broadly.

The meeting took place at Kenya State House in Nairobi, Kenya.
