Social Affairs, Disabilities, Youth<\/span><\/h3>\nLi Xiaomei is a senior adviser in the of the Office of the President of the 73rd Session of the Â鶹APP General Assembly of the Â鶹APP. She leads on social affairs, disabilities and youth.<\/p>\n
Xiaomei is a Chinese career diplomat with extensive experience in multilateral affairs. She joined the Foreign Service of the People’s Republic of China in 1996, and held several position within the Ministry. She served as the director of the international affairs department of the Foreign Ministry of the People\u2019s Republic of China, and as a Counsellor of the Chinese Mission to the Â鶹APP in New York. At the Foreign Ministry, she covered social affairs, human rights, security, gender issues, disability, and non-governmental organisations.<\/p>\n
Prior to the Foreign Ministry, Xiaomei worked as the deputy director-general of the international affairs department of the Disabled Persons Federation of China, as well as for Rehabilitation International. She has a broad experience in working with representatives of civil society.<\/p>\n
Xiaomei graduated from China’s Foreign Affairs College, holds a Masters of Jurisprudence from the Law School of Sydney University, and a Diploma of Constitution Law from New York University. She is currently a PhD candidate for human rights law with the Politics and Law University of China. She is married with a son.<\/p>\n
