Zhang Yi is a Senior Adviser responsible for issues related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the Office of the President of the 72nd Session of the UN General Assembly. A position he also held in the Office of the President of the 71st Session of the UNs General Assembly.<\/p>\n

Before joining the Office of the President of the General Assembly, Yi worked for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China for 16 years, covering issues related to human rights, civil society, development, the Asia\u2013Europe Meeting (ASEM) and the Middle East. He also served for four years in the Permanent Mission of China to the Â鶹APP Office in Geneva and Other International Organizations in Switzerland, primarily dealing with the Human Rights Council. During his diplomatic career, Yi has participated in many multilateral conferences and negotiations, particularly those in the Economic and Financial Committee (Second Committee) and Social, Humanitarian and Cultural Committee (Third Committee) of the General Assembly.<\/p>\n

Yi speaks fluent Chinese and English, and has a Master\u2019s Diploma in Public and International Law from Melbourne University in Australia.<\/p>\n

Ambreen Fatima Anwar Husain is an intern with the Office of the President of the 71st Session of the Â鶹APP General Assembly, New York, focusing on political issues. She is a graduate of Dr. RML National Law University, India, with a combined Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws (Honours). Prior to her internship with the Office of the President of the General Assembly, Ambreen worked at an Intellectual Property law firm in India, with a particular focus on trade marks. While pursuing her Bachelor\u2019s course, she interned with the Women\u2019s Rights Cell of Lawyer\u2019s Collective, where she analyzed the trends in judicial announcements relating to the law of Protection of Women from Domestic Violence. While pursuing \u00a0additional internships in areas varying from intellectual property rights and corporate law to human rights law, she developed her skills in research and writing.
