Senior Adviser and Supporting Speechwriter<\/span>\u00a0| Migration, Human Trafficking and Morning Dialogues<\/span><\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

Kurt Davis serves as Senior Adviser and Supporting Speechwriter in the Office of the President of the 72nd Session of the UN General Assembly.\u00a0Kurt coordinates the team\u2019s work on migration, and is the focal point for the President\u2019s Morning Dialogues series. He will also work on human trafficking, health and human rights, and be the liaison to the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).<\/p>\n

Kurt is a Jamaican career Foreign Service Officer since 2003. As Counsellor in the Permanent Mission of Jamaica to the UN from 2013 to 2017, his portfolio has covered social issues such as women and children, human rights, social development, racism, health, human trafficking and international drug control policy. He was elected Vice-Chair of the Social, Humanitarian and Cultural Committee (Third Committee) during the 69th<\/sup> Session of the UN General Assembly.<\/p>\n

Previously, he has undertaken assignments in a wide range of subject areas and served in the pioneering team which established Jamaica\u2019s first High Commission in Pretoria, South Africa.<\/p>\n

Kurt holds a B.S. in International Relations from the University of the West Indies, in Jamaica, a M.A. in Diplomacy from Keele University in the United Kingdom, and a LLM in Public International Law from the University of London, in the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n

He is a husband of 14 years to his wife Suzanne, with whom he shares the joy of raising a 6 year old son.<\/p>\n

Ambreen Fatima Anwar Husain is an intern with the Office of the President of the 71st Session of the Â鶹APP General Assembly, New York, focusing on political issues. She is a graduate of Dr. RML National Law University, India, with a combined Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws (Honours). Prior to her internship with the Office of the President of the General Assembly, Ambreen worked at an Intellectual Property law firm in India, with a particular focus on trade marks. While pursuing her Bachelor\u2019s course, she interned with the Women\u2019s Rights Cell of Lawyer\u2019s Collective, where she analyzed the trends in judicial announcements relating to the law of Protection of Women from Domestic Violence. While pursuing \u00a0additional internships in areas varying from intellectual property rights and corporate law to human rights law, she developed her skills in research and writing.
