Peter Thomson issued the following statement on the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Aleppo, Syria.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">&#8220;I am deeply concerned by the rapid and dramatic deterioration of the situation in Aleppo. I join with others whose conscience demands they cannot stand silent in the face of gross violations of international humanitarian law and the immense human suffering being inflicted upon innocent civilians in Aleppo.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">&#8220;Humanity&#8217;s call is for an immediate cessation of hostilities to occur, for unhindered humanitarian assistance to be allowed to reach those in need, and for political negotiations to resume as quickly as possible to end this tragic conflict.
