Mogens Lykketoft, \u00a0on the Missile Launch by the Democratic People\u2019s Republic of Korea on 6 February 2016<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>New York, 7 February 2016<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">This deplorable and reckless act by the Democratic People\u2019s Republic of Korea (DPRK) represents a clear threat to international peace and security.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">I join the President and members of the Security Council in wholeheartedly condemning the Democratic People\u2019s Republic of Korea for this missile launch which is a clear violation of Security Council resolutions 1718, 1874, 2087, and 2094.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">I call on the Democratic People\u2019s Republic of Korea to pursue its objectives in a peaceful manner, abandon its nuclear weapon and missile programmes and comply with all its international obligations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><div class=\"woo-sc-divider\"><\/div><\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Statement attributable to the President of the UN General Assembly, H.E.
