Priorities<\/h3>\n

H.E. Mogens Lykketoft\u2019s goal, as President of the 70th<\/sup>\u00a0session of the General Assembly, is to support Member States to implement their ambitious and transformative 2030 Agenda through a\u00a0New Commitment to Action<\/i><\/strong>\u00a0as follows:<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

1. Sustainable Development<\/h4>\n

Advance the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals forging progress on the means of implementation and supportive multi-stakeholder engagement<\/p>\n

2. Peace and Security<\/h4>\n

Advance efforts to strengthen the role and performance of the\u00a0UN\u2019s\u00a0engagement in peace and security issues, including UN peace operations<\/span><\/p>\n

3. Human Rights<\/h4>\n

Support the integration of human rights into all processes and events with a\u00a0focus on the needs of the millions of people affected by conflicts and disasters<\/span><\/p>\n

4. Good Governance<\/h4>\n

Oversee the effective running of the General Assembly, assist with\u00a0advancing the selection process of the next UN Secretary-General and support efforts aimed\u00a0<\/span>at improving the overall functioning of the UN and its principal bodies<\/span><\/p>\n
