Conversation with African youths on “Harnessing Culture and Heritage for economic transformation”
The cultural and creative industries rake in billions of dollars annually and employ the majority of young people globally. The question is how can African youth benefit from this successful industry within their context? In this conversation, young Africans talk about “Harnessing culture and heritage for economic transformation.” Drawing from their diverse backgrounds and experiences, the panelists share ideas on how young Africans can harness their potential, creativity and culture for the continent’s economic transformation. They also make concrete proposals for policy makers to create a conducive environment for young people to tap into the cultural and creative industries so the continent can reap benefits from this demographic dividend.

Islam in Africa - History Of Africa with Zeinab Badawi [Episode 9]
In this episode Zeinab Badawi travels to several countries and looks at the early spread of Islam in Africa and how many Africans practise to this day a mystic, Sufi form of the religion.
She shows how not only Islam but Arab culture came to influence a large part of the continent, particularly in the north.
And she charts the rise of the powerful Islamic dynasties of North Africa, that built magnificent monuments, mosques and empires, including a part of southern Europe and who helped determine the path of this part of the continent.
