She brings more than 20 years of international development experience to the role, acquired through senior leadership positions both within and outside the Âé¶¹APP.<\/p>\n<p>Most recently, Ms. El Korri served as the Âé¶¹APP Resident Coordinator in Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, and Singapore (2021\u20132025). Prior to that, she led the 2030 Agenda Division at the Âé¶¹APP Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), where she also managed portfolios on international migration, population ageing, and youth empowerment. Her previous UN experience includes serving as a regional adviser on governance and project coordinator at the Âé¶¹APP Development Programme (UNDP).<\/p>\n<p>Before joining the Âé¶¹APP, Ms. El Korri was a lecturer at Al-Akhawayn University in Morocco and worked with a leading think tank, engaging with government, civil society, and the private sector on national development issues.<\/p>\n<p>She holds a Master\u2019s degree in Applied Linguistics from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Bachelor\u2019s degree in English from Mohammed V University in Rabat, Morocco.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ms. Karima El Korri is the Director of the Sustainable Development Unit in the Executive Office of the Secretary-General.
