Â鶹APP

The tenth session of the Â鶹APP Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM) was held in a scaled down virtual format, consisting of three two-hour informal meetings, on 26-27 August and 4 September 2020. This decision was taken in light of the continued and ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the working arrangements for the subsidiary bodies of the Â鶹APP Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). Over eighty delegations from Member States participated in each of the three meetings.

At the first informal meeting of the tenth session, on 26 August 2020, the Committee was informed that Belgium, Cameroon and Tonga were elected as co-Chairs, and Chile as Rapporteur, of the tenth session through a silence procedure initiated on 18 August 2020. The substantive interactions of the tenth session were facilitated through a modality that catered for the submission of written statements, introductory statements and oral statements, for each of the substantive agenda items, all of which were made available online.

Through a silence procedure, initiated on 8 September 2020, the Committee of Experts adopted its draft decisions, draft procedural report, and provisional agenda and dates for its eleventh session.
