The fifteenth session was held from 6-8 August 2025 at Conference Room 4, Â鶹APP Headquarters in New York. The session was attended by 296 delegates from 84 Member States. Also present were 93 representatives of organizations of the Â鶹APP system and observers for intergovernmental, non-governmental, and other organizations. Over 390 representatives, delegates, and observers attended the session.

The Assistant-Secretary-General for Policy Coordination of the Â鶹APP, Ms. Bj?rg Sankja?r, provided an opening statement in which she recalled the ambition of the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development and the necessity to act now to regain the momentum, enact the transformational progress, and advance sustainable, inclusive, science- and evidence-based solutions, she also stated:

The Committee of Experts elected by acclamation a bureau for its fifteenth session. The representatives from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, South Africa, and the United States of America were elected as co-Chairs, together with the representative of Fiji as rapporteur. The Committee had six meetings for its fifteenth session, and each of the three co-Chairs took turns to preside over the meetings of the session with the rapporteur in attendance. Fourteen substantive agenda items were energetically considered and deliberated by the Committee and attracted over 250 statements and interventions from Member States, including collectively as regional committees.

Fifteen substantive agenda items were considered and deliberated by the Committee and attracted over 324 statements and interventions from Member States, including collectively as regional committees. Observing entities also participated in the work of the Committee and provided another 59 statements. These statements and interventions enriched the discussions within and considerations of the Committee of Experts. As witnessed in the statements and decisions, the Committee of ¡°expressed serious concerns about the impact of the UN80 initiative on the normative and implementation work of the Committee of Experts and on the efforts of the Secretariat to facilitate and coordinate the operations of the Â鶹APP global geospatial centres" while commending the efforts ¡°to strengthen and enhance global geospatial information management arrangements¡± and renewing its commitment to the achievement of its operations focused on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Â鶹APP Integrated Geospatial Information Framework (UN-IGIF).
