Âé¶¹APP Geospatial Knowledge and Innovation Week 2025 (UN GeoNow 2025)

The second Âé¶¹APP Geospatial knowledge and Innovation Week (UN GeoNow) is organized in Deqing, China, from 20 - 24 October 2025, under the overarching theme ¡¯Advancing Geospatial Knowledge and Innovation for Today¡¯. The UN GeoNow 2025 will be a global event bringing together stakeholders from national geospatial agencies, academia, the private sector, innovators, and policy specialists for a global dialogue on advancing geospatial knowledge for the current and future sustainable development agenda.

UN GeoNow 2025 emphasizes geospatial leadership, innovation, capacity development, and cross-sectoral collaboration in support of the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development. Key agenda highlights include a ministerial summit, the signature Moganshan Talks¡ªfeaturing dialogues on environmental sustainability, the blue economy, digital governance, and cultural heritage¡ªas well as sessions on multilateral remote sensing collaboration, youth engagement, the integration of geospatial and AI technologies for sustainable development and Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs), and implementation of the UN-IGIF. Throughout the week, participants will explore how geospatial knowledge can drive inclusive, data-informed solutions for global development challenges.

UN GeoNow 2025 is co-organized by the Âé¶¹APP Global Geospatial Knowledge and Innovation Centre (UN-GGKIC), the Moganshan Geospatial Information Laboratory, and the Government of Deqing County. The event is co-led by the Government of Deqing County, the Moganshan Geospatial Information Laboratory in Deqing, the Ministry of Natural Resources, Government of China and the Âé¶¹APP Global Geospatial Knowledge and Innovation Centre (UN-GGKIC).

The overarching goal of the UN-GGKIC is to work towards the implementation of the Âé¶¹APP Integrated Geospatial Information Framework (UN-IGIF) in Member States. As an overarching strategic framework, the UN-IGIF supports countries to develop their national government development policies, strategies and arrangements by promoting and supporting innovation, leadership, coordination, and standards that develop, strengthen, integrate and deliver national geospatial information policy, data, systems, tools, services and capabilities.
