Jason Roberts was known as a dynamic Premier League and international striker, and media personality. He is currently a global football executive, serving as Chief Football Development Officer at CONCACAF. During his playing career, he led the line for English clubs Bristol Rovers, West Bromwich Albion, Wigan Athletic, Blackburn Rovers, and Reading. At Wigan, he played a pivotal role in the club¡¯s historic rise to the Premier League and the 2006 League Cup Final. Internationally, Roberts represented Grenada, scoring in qualifiers for the 2006 World Cup.
Off the field, Roberts has consistently used his platform to drive change. In 2007, he founded the Jason Roberts Foundation, empowering UK and Grenada communities through grassroots health, education, and inclusion projects. In recognition of his services, he was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire in 2010.
Following his retirement in 2014, Roberts transitioned into media, becoming a respected voice on BBC Sport and Premier League TV. In 2017, he joined CONCACAF as Chief Football Development Officer, where he leads initiatives to develop and promote the game, while advancing sustainability, innovation, and inclusion across the region. Roberts also serves as Chancellor of the Global Institute of Sport and launched the Jason Roberts Foundation Scholarship, supporting the next generation of sports leaders.
