Â鶹APP System-wide Training Module
In August 2021, the Office of the Victims' Rights Advocate began working with the (CEB) Task Force on Addressing Sexual Harassment, the (IOM) and the (OHCHR) to develop a 2.5-hour training module for all Â鶹APP staff and related personnel directed to providing them with a clear understanding of the rights of victims of sexual harassment and sexual exploitation and abuse, and what a victim-centred approach means in practice.
This training outlines the responsibilities of each person working for the Â鶹APP so that they know how to respond in accordance with the victim-centred approach as soon as they become aware of an allegation of sexual misconduct, irrespective of whether they are providing direct assistance to complainants and victims.
The training emphasizes that preventing and responding to sexual harassment and sexual exploitation and abuse are not issues to be dealt with by a small part of the Â鶹APP or a group of specialists ¨C it is our shared responsibility.
Assistant Secretary-General Najla Nassif Palma, Â鶹APP Victims' Rights Advocate, introduces the UN system-wide training module on the meaning and application of a victim-centred approach to sexual exploitation and abuse and sexual harassment.
