Born in the state of Idaho, Mar¨ªa S¨¢nchez is one of the most dynamic Mexican-American footballers of her generation, a talented winger whose story bridges two cultures and two football systems. With experience in both Liga MX Femenil and the NWSL, she made history in 2023 by becoming the highest-paid player in the NWSL despite never playing club soccer. She secured Gold with the Mexican Women¡¯s National team at the 2023 Pan American Games and is a two-time Liga MX Femenil champion with Tigres Femenil.
Maria is a strong advocate for eradicating poverty & inequality and building bridges for people to have better access to needed resources. Through her partnership with Nike, Maria was able to donate backpacks to children in Michoacan, where part of Maria¡¯s family is originally from.
