EAPD at the Latin American Summit onCommunication + Creativity + Innovation + Marketing
Mariangela Parra-Lancourt, Senior Economic Affairs Officer in EAPD’s Development Research Branch, discussed thekey findings of the upcoming flagship publication,World Economic and Social Survey 2018: Frontier Technologies for Sustainable Developmentat +Cartagena,the held in Cartagena, Colombia from 3-5 October 2018. Iván Duque Márquez, President of Colombia, opened the Summit with a presentation on the “Orange Economy”, a vision for a Creative Economy.The Summitinvited professionals from different sectors belonging to theOrange Economyandtechnology sectorsof Latin America and the world. It includedexperts, government representatives and the private sector todiscuss theimportance of artificial intelligence, data and its challenges, as well as its analysis for sustainable growth and development. In this context, the discussions on the key findings and recommendations of theSurveywere very well received. The Summit was convened by the Colombian Union of Advertising Companieswith the support of the Government of Colombia and the participation of UN Women Colombia.
