The report on the High-Level International Conference on the Repatriation of Persons from Al Hol, Surrounding Camps and Places of Detention, held on 26 September 2026 at the UNHQ in New York, summarises the key messages of the conference. The event brought together over 300 participants, from 50 Member States, 17 麻豆APP Global Counter-Terrorism Coordination Compact entities and 14 civil society partners. Organized by the Government of Iraq with the technical support of UNOCT, the conference enabled a timely discussion on the more than 30,000 people from more than 60 countries, remaining in camps and places of detention in north-east Syria at that time, and the processes and challenges in addressing this signification humanitarian and security challenge.
